It should be seen that essential oils are highly concentrated and medicinal substance, so some safety precautions require to be observed.  For a healthy adult, most essential oils are safe to use within a proper dosage (as indicated above). However, when using essential oils for babies, during pregnancy, children, for the elderly or those with a severe illness it is reasonable to do some investigation to ensure that you use oils that are perfect and that you use the right dose.

As a general guide, the mildest essential oils include Lavender, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Neroli and citrus essential oils such as Orange,  Lime, Lemon, Bergamot and Mandarin. Citrus essential oils can create an effect on the skin called phototoxicity. Citrus oils used to the skin and then exposed to direct sunlight produces the skin to be more likely to sunburn.

To prevent this either use citrus essential oils at night or if you plan to visit inside for most of the time or use them in breath health issues. Essential oils need to be reduced with a carrier oil before being utilised to the skin.

However, most of the scientific confirmation that this essential oils for anxiety come from animal research. To verify and better understand these findings, researchers require to conduct more large-scale studies in humans.
